Ponce Inlet sets Sept. budget hearings; stormwater rate hearing scheduled for Sept. 8

Town Manager Mike Disher told the Council he had reviewed scheduling options for the FY 2026-2027 budget hearings and identified constraints for September. The Council set the Stormwater Utility Rate Hearing for Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.; the first budget hearing for Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.; and the second budget hearing for Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
During the discussion Mr. Disher noted the difficulties of scheduling hearings in September and the need to comply with legal notice and hearing requirements. No formal vote was required; the Council reached consensus on the dates and times.
Staff indicated the stormwater hearing and the two budget hearings will follow statutory notice requirements and return to the Council for final adoption during the scheduled hearings.
