Code Compliance Manager Mr. Hooker summarized the lien history: the $79,750 total accrued over 318 days and includes the Town's standard $250 administrative fee; foreclosure proceedings had been authorized by the Council on Feb. 15, 2024. The executor of the estate, Scott Warburton, addressed the Council and provided the family's account of the property history and their effort to resolve the matter. Mayor Paritsky described the petition as seeking relief for what she characterized as "alleged mismanagement of a family business," and Councilmembers discussed mail responsiveness, rental frequency, the distribution of estate assets, and responsibilities of involved individuals.
Councilmember White moved to deny the abatement request and impose the original lien of $79,750 to be paid within 30 business days; Mayor Paritsky seconded. The motion passed 5-0 with the following recorded votes: White ' yes; Paritsky ' yes; Milano ' yes; Villanella ' yes; Vice-Mayor Smith ' yes. The Council did not direct further modifications to the lien at the meeting.
