Madeira Fire Rescue Chief Belk told the board that "the new fire station is expected to be completed in January 2027," the department is applying for appropriation funds to purchase a new fire truck, and hiring for the new station will begin on June 15. The update was presented during the Appearances and Presentations section of the meeting.
Seminole Fire Rescue Chief Schobel reported there were "27 calls within the Town," and noted that the department recently extinguished a high-rise fire within 20 minutes; that high-rise incident was outside Redington Shores. The chiefs’ briefings were informational; no formal town action was taken during the meeting.
