Sweet Home swears in new police hire, Parker Alger

City Manager Ogden introduced Parker Alger as the newest hire at the Sweet Home Police Department and led the formal swearing-in. Alger repeated the oath affirming support for the U.S. Constitution, the laws of Oregon, and the ordinances and rules of the city and department. "I, Parker Alger, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States... and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office to which I have been appointed," Alger said during the oath.
After the oath, Alger signed the required documents and received a pinning/photo opportunity. Mayor Coleman and council members welcomed the new officer and thanked department staff for attending. The swearing-in was noted as a highlight of the meeting and framed as a community welcome to the new officer.
