City honors Community Services Officer Sean Morgan for outreach work

The City of Sweet Home presented Community Services Officer Sean Morgan with a Distinguished Service Award for what City Manager Ogden described as "continuously exceptional body of work." Ogden read a nomination submitted by Captain Cummings and highlighted examples of Morgan's work, including helping a person get a CDL reinstated, obtaining dog vaccination records so someone could enter shelter, assisting with housing applications, and providing transport to government offices and treatment facilities. "CSO Morgan's heart for service brings great credit to the Sweet Home Police Department," Ogden said.
Morgan credited a network of community partners — including churches and nonprofit groups — and described the teamwork that allowed staff to remove barriers for people experiencing homelessness. He recounted a recent case where a man who had been on the street for decades got assistance that prevented him from becoming homeless again and enabled him to keep his apartment. City leaders presented Morgan with a challenge coin and ribbon and publicly thanked Captain Cummings for the nomination.
