Council highlights downtown beautification grants, seeks to install banners and flowerpots by Memorial Day

The same speaker described proposed features including double‑sided custom banners, hanging flowerpots for antique lamp posts, and permanent seating; banner designs will be aligned with the town’s existing website branding.
In the same discussion staff reported being in a holding pattern on a $1,750,000 mix of grants and loans applied for through Region 9 intended for the water utility, describing that amount as roughly 25% of what is needed for planned water projects. Council members spoke in favor of using available funds conservatively in the first 12 months and emphasized generational planning horizons for investments.
