Borough Manager Cindy Wells said the borough is continuing negotiations to purchase the American Legion ball field and integrate it into the borough parks system. Solicitor Wachter is preparing the agreement; council voted to authorize presenting that draft to the American Legion for their review (motion by Councilor Steadman, seconded by Councilor Osborn).
Wells said funding for acquisition would come from outside sources and a private donor and that the borough would cover closing costs if necessary. The minutes do not record a binding purchase agreement or a specific funding commitment beyond the council’s approval to present the proposed agreement.
