Lewisburg council approves two staff promotions in planning and public works

City Manager Misty Hill recommended two personnel actions at the March 17 meeting and Council approved both. Council approved the promotion of Sara Morgan-Jenkins to Interim Planning and Zoning Assistant with a $0.35-per-hour pay increase effective March 26, 2026; the motion to approve was made by Councilmember Valerie Pritt and seconded by Councilmember Franklin Johnson.
Council also approved making Interim Water Distribution Foreman Derrick Morgan the permanent Water Distribution Foreman with a $1.25-per-hour pay increase effective March 26, 2026. The minutes note Mr. Morgan has been serving in the interim role and recently obtained his commercial driver's license (CDL). Both promotions carried with five votes in favor and one absence recorded for Councilmember Seams.
