Five Counties offers free assistance to update Glendale’s 2001 general plan

Kevin Smedley, a Five Counties planner, reviewed Glendale's 2001 general plan and explained that state law requires a land-use element and a traffic and circulation element. He offered to help the town update the plan and provide mapping and online zoning support at no cost to the town, noting the legislature funds his position and the Utah League of Cities and Towns is funding the interactive zoning map.
Mayor Chamberlain asked that Five Counties present the updated draft to the Glendale Planning and Zoning Commission; the board approved the move by motion. Smedley suggested the update could include community goals, infrastructure mapping and optional public outreach such as surveys or an open-house meeting. The planning commission will be engaged first as required by state law.
