At the July 6 meeting, homeowner Duane Manyweather showed council members photos and said his floor had lifted "three inches" and that "maybe the gases are coming up from the toilet and the sink." He said a contractor (James Paugh) would inspect the floor the following day. Councilmembers asked to see the photos and discussed who on staff or among city subcontractors could address the issue.
Following that report, resident Mark Hopkins presented a sewer map and Paul Dean said the city would need engineers to draw plans for any sewer extension because state code requires an engineered extension (not a repair). Paul said staff can prepare easements to send to affected property owners. The minutes record discussion about a clean-out marked on a map for 601 Sherman and discrepancies between different staff maps; Evan Casey urged resolving sewer changes so they do not delay upcoming projects.
