Domotor said the proposal responds to citizen concerns and lessons from the 2023 Comprehensive Master Plan, and cited a Maryland Public Information Act request that revealed the town had no formal tracking log for rezoning requests during the prior update.
Commissioners discussed whether criteria should be weighted, how to create a paper trail and database, and whether a worksheet or formal log would be needed to document future rezoning requests. Domotor asked commissioners to send written recommendations to Director John Breeding by March 2; the ordinance will be reconsidered at the Commission—s March meeting.
