Nutter Fort department reports: training, events, ambulance updates and hydrant fittings

Treasurer Leslie Cummings told the council she attended training with the West Virginia State Auditor’s Office on Nov. 4, 2025 and will draft several municipal policies for review in the coming months. She also said she is working with Public Works to help town staff attain CDL licensure.
Fire Chief Jeremy Haddix reported the 'Ultimate Bash' sold out this year and that future events will move to May 9, 2026 to avoid conflicts with WVU football and other local events. He also announced the Annual Santa Run to collect canned goods will take place on Dec. 7, 2025, with Santa beginning the route at 1:00 p.m.
EMS Supervisor Nathan Rohrbough (participating by phone) reported that the newest ambulance is having striping applied and will return to town for stocking, equipment mounting and a subsequent state inspection; the rotation is intended to balance mileage and reduce maintenance costs. Public Works Supervisor Travis Yost said Storz fittings are being placed on hydrants to reduce hose-connection time. Part-time Code Enforcement Officer Robert Leonard noted a seminar in Flatwoods, WV in early December costing $200 that 'Ronnie' will attend.
