Nutter Fort council approves minutes, accounts payable and schedules budget sessions

At its Jan. 27 meeting the Town of Nutter Fort council approved prior minutes and accounts payable, heard department reports and set budget sessions to begin March 7. Councilors also discussed bank branch closure and ongoing facility repairs at City Hall.
The Town of Nutter Fort council, led by Mayor Rezin Hudkins IV, approved routine business items at its Jan. 27 meeting, including the Jan. 13 minutes and the current accounts payable. Councilor Charlene Louk moved to approve the minutes; Councilor Rick Lafferty seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Later, council approved accounts payable after a motion by Councilor Lafferty and a second from Louk.
Treasurer staff reported that the town is using a scanner provided by WesBanco to process remote deposits after the branch closed; FY2025 PSC reports were completed by Bennett & Dobbins and financial statements will go to Ferrari & Associates for the audit. Budget sessions were scheduled to begin March 7. Recorder Natalie Haddix praised interdepartmental cooperation during recent winter operations, saying, "We always hear the bad, but it is very important to focus on the good as well."
