Three Oaks council OKs $500-per-month lease for Unit 6 to TOMAMA

The Three Oaks Village Council on Dec. 10 approved a lease of 21 N. Elm St., Unit 6, to the community organization TOMAMA for $500 per month, effective Jan. 1, 2026. The motion, moved by President Steve Graziano and supported by Councilmember Jones, passed unanimously with Hinman absent.
During public comment, TOMAMA member Kim Pruitt told the council she and the Village Manager discussed a starting rent of $500 and said the group could help present the space at the DDA open house next week. Council minutes note the tenant may have early access to the unit as soon as the day after the meeting and that the Village will relocate its breakroom to accommodate the tenant. President Graziano was authorized to sign the lease on behalf of the Village.
Why it matters: The space had been vacant after prior use by the Berrien County Health Department; council described the tenancy as a modest source of revenue and a community asset. The lease terms and effective date were included in the motion and recorded in the official vote.
