City Manager Kurt Sorensen said staff presented a wastewater system cleaning and television inspection contract that council approved. He described the work as proactive maintenance intended to protect infrastructure, public health and the environment while lowering long-term costs.
"Cleaning and inspection of our wastewater systems forms a proactive maintenance strategy that protects infrastructure, public health and the environment while reducing long term costs," Sorensen said. He added that an informal bidding process produced a quoted amount of $148,000 and that the work was already included in the adopted budget.
