Council hears progress on streetscape, Independence Street and rail‑trail bridge designs

A streetscape committee representative said Thrasher Engineering provided documents that will move the project to a 30% sketch level and that surveyors will arrive to complete fieldwork. "What happened today will lead to what's called the 30% sketch type design," the speaker said, adding that the town works to claim reimbursements and aims not to be out of pocket for Thrasher invoices.
On the rail trail, the council reported receipt of state bridge drawings and scheduled a teleconference with the district engineer to discuss pay items and solicitation; members discussed procurement logistics and the sequence of remediation, bridge construction and final trail build-out.
