Mayor Rezin D. Hudkins, IV reported in writing that 13 applications were received for the position of Police Chief; the list of applicants was also provided to Chief Godwin for his review. The mayor said the review process for applicants will begin the week after the March 5, 2026 application deadline and that he will ask one council member to participate on the review committee.
Council did not take a personnel action at the March 10 meeting; the minutes record only that the application count is 13 and that a committee has been established to begin reviewing candidates. No names of applicants were recorded in the minutes and no interview schedule was set during the meeting.
