Town Council accepts bid to replace three basement windows; HVAC decision postponed

Recorder Natalie Haddix called the Town of Nutter Fort council to order at 6:31 p.m. on March 10. During unfinished business, Councilor Charlene Louk moved to postpone further action on Town Hall heating and cooling quotes pending additional research; the motion passed unanimously with Councilor Sam Maxson recorded as voting yes by phone.

The council then voted unanimously to accept a bid from All About Glass, submitted by Norm Weaver, for the replacement of three basement windows at Town Hall. The motion to accept the windows bid was moved by Charlene Louk and seconded by Rick Lafferty. The mayor’s written report — read into the record — recommended moving forward with window replacement first and addressing HVAC upgrades afterward: "I recommend moving forward with the window replacement project first and addressing the HVAC upgrades afterward, with the goal of ensuring the heating and cooling systems are fully addressed before the winter season." The council directed that HVAC quote discussion be revisited once additional information is gathered.

The action authorizes work limited to the three basement windows named in the accepted bid; the council did not approve a contract amount in the minutes beyond acceptance of the bid and did not take final HVAC-related action at the meeting. Next procedural steps were left to staff follow-up and a future council agenda item for the HVAC quotes.
