Danville Rec ramps up fundraising: brick fundraiser, Papa Gino’s night and electronic donations discussed

The Danville Recreation Committee reviewed several fundraising options to support programs and larger events. Members discussed selling engraved bricks (possible placement at a community garden), a Yankee Candle fundraiser, a community flower bar to be hosted at the community center, and restaurant fundraisers. Papa Gino’s night is scheduled for June 10 from 4–9 p.m.; the committee expects to receive 20% of proceeds. Panera cannot host a fundraiser because the Recreation group is not a 501(c)(3).
Committee members also discussed the technical ability to take electronic donations. Vanessa said her husband will donate time to create a QR code for donations; Tara asked about Cheddar Up as another option. Erin noted that staff must meet with the Board of Selectmen (BOS) and Treasurer Kathy to finalize the approach. The committee identified 'Get On Board' as an easy event to set up and planned additional outreach to local restaurants such as Saddle Up Saloon Sunrise and Community Oven in nearby Epping to explore breakfast or other fundraising events.
No formal fundraising amounts were approved during the meeting; the committee tasked members to collect vendor and vendor-fee information and to select dates for some events. The Papa Gino’s fundraiser on June 10 is confirmed in the minutes and flyers will be distributed at upcoming events and at the Memorial Day Parade.
