Selectmen move $45,000 bulk-pickup operating line into Police Department budget

The Board voted unanimously on May 18 to move $45,000 from the town’s operating budget into the Police Department budget. Shawn O’Neil explained that an additional $45,000 approved through a warrant article specifically for bulk pickup will pay for the scheduled fall pickup, so the operating-line move covers other department needs.
Shawn made the motion and Joe Hester seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The Board noted the accounting move is to reallocate operating funds, not to eliminate the fall bulk-pickup funded by the warrant article.
