Board approves additional cleanup at Parcel 33; staff to provide maps and pay invoice on completion

At the Dec. 10 meeting Mr. Adams presented a cleanup proposal for Parcel 33 requested by Supervisor Carol Vaughan. The scope includes perimeter cleanup, removal of dead trees and mulching; an optional scope would use weed whackers on a dry retention slope where mowing is impractical.
District Engineer Kurt Heath said there is a natural wetland in the center of the parcel and described excavated retention on the western side; he warned the south side is difficult to mow with equipment. Ms. Lonergan asked that maps be provided to Supervisor Putman. Mr. Adams said the invoice will be paid upon completion. On motion by Michael Walsh, seconded by Stephen Putman, the board approved the proposal, including the optional scope, with all in favor.
Ms. Vaughan asked whether mulch or brown bark wood chips were cheaper; Tim Gatz said wood chips are free and additional mulching is planned for early spring. The board also noted that native grasses at Hole 2 are dwindling; Mr. Gatz will inspect and advise.
