The Washington County Highway Department reported multiple active projects and equipment updates. Superintendent Rick Voyles said Community Crossings work is about three-fourths complete, one new tandem truck has arrived with a second due shortly, and work on the mixed salt shed and mechanics garage is finishing. Voyles said trusses for the mixed salt bin roof have been delivered and utility installation will conclude this week.
Voyles told the board he has been coordinating with INDOT on a redesign for the intersection of Radcliff Road and Highway 150; HWC Engineering has provided a contract for engineering services and Voyles estimated the project will likely be completed sometime in 2027. The minutes also record that a call for bids for Bridge 39 will be issued with a due date of Oct. 7, 2025.
The highway report notes planned ADA access improvements at the office and other facility upgrades with an expected completion around the end of October. The minutes do not include full engineering plans or a detailed funding breakdown for the Radcliff/150 project; those matters will require INDOT and engineering contract review.
