Highway update: Community Crossings paving underway, bridge work wrapping up

Washington County's highway superintendent provided progress reports on building and paving projects and on Community Crossings grant work.
Superintendent Paul Eckert reported masonry and gutter work on the highway office are complete, camera outlets and mechanics-garage framing are starting, septic and utility feeds have been run, and a sign shed is finished. He said crews completed small structures at Garrison Hollow and Olive Branch and finished a second round of county paving; Community Crossings paving has started with Old 160 planned next. Bridge 238 work was complete and paving was expected to finish by the end of the week.
Eckert also reported that dump trucks ordered two years ago were expected to be delivered in a couple of months. The highway updates were recorded in both the commissioners' meeting and the joint meeting minutes during August.
