Chair Peterson opened his first remarks by publicly thanking volunteer Buck Malek “for all the time that he's put in here and the diligent work he's done for us,” then invited nominations for vice chair. A board member nominated Joe Miller; the nomination was seconded, and the board approved both leadership positions by voice vote.
The elections were moved to the start of the agenda to accommodate the board's schedule and preceded routine items including verification that the meeting had been properly advertised and approval of the April 23 minutes. The leadership change was recorded without objection, and Chair Peterson proceeded to the day's business.
