"The calendar is not set by Richland School District 2... the board will vote on calendars and select a calendar, but the calendar is actually created by a team of people from different stakeholder groups," she said.
Moore outlined parameters the committee must follow: 180 school days, makeup days for weather, a goal to graduate before Memorial Day and semester-exam scheduling before winter break. She emphasized the inclusive nature of the process and encouraged community members to watch board meetings and provide feedback when calendars are under review.
