Staff reports Q2 pipeline: 31 active projects, trade-show leads and downtown grant changes

City economic development staff summarized second-quarter activity, noting 31 active projects in the pipeline and 14 new leads during the quarter. Staff said an RFI submission batch showed potential capital investment around $384 million and roughly 3,000 potential jobs for projects that moved beyond initial inquiry.
"We had a productive Q2," staff said, describing recent recruitment and outreach work including three major trade shows that generated 633 new contacts and approximately 30 leads the team is following up on. Staff also noted the downtown reinvestment grant reached capacity after budget changes and will be revisited with a policy update in the fall.
Staff briefed the board on many outreach activities—BRE visits, recruitment outreach attempts, and partner events—and introduced a new economic development manager who will support day-to-day operations and program follow-up.
