Shea Scollard, Dixon County Emergency Manager, told the board the county's flood plan project is underway and that he has fielded questions from insurance companies, banks and residents. Scollard said he has received an APG program grant that helps fund his position and that he is coordinating with JEO on a proposal for a comprehensive plan to be presented in August. He also described community outreach efforts including babysitter and CPR classes and assistance with a local bike ride.
Extension Educator Angela Abts reported on work with 4‑H Ambassador training, a food‑waste loss grant at the Siouxland YMCA, YQCA livestock exhibitor classes for Dixon and Dakota counties, and pre‑fair judging at the Dixon Fair. The board heard these routine program updates during its reconvened session after the Board of Equalization meeting.
