Council approved a request from the Tuscola County Fair Board to apply for a new entrance sign at the Elmer Drive entrance to the fairgrounds.
City manager (speaker 2) explained that the fair board needs the property-owner sign-off to submit a permit application and that council approval is required because the city manager ordinarily performs both the owner and permit approvals. "So I'm just asking for you guys to allow the fair board to apply for a new entrance sign off of the Elmer Drive as presented," the manager said. Council moved, seconded and approved the request by voice vote; staff noted that standard permit review and conditions still apply and that the sign application will return to staff for the usual permitting checks.
