Consultant Steve told the committee Site 7 could be served largely by gravity and that repurposing existing effluent lines would expand the acreage able to tie in. "You end up with 2,095 acres adjacent to effluent force mains," he said, describing the repurposing that reduces the necessary footage of large-diameter pipe.
Steve said the team reduced total footage to about 15,000 feet of 36- and 48-inch pipe and estimated pipeline installation at $15,790,000 in the packet. He also noted three-phase power, water and gas are present at the road for this site, and that two nearby pump stations could potentially be eliminated if the facility were located here, which could reduce future maintenance costs for the city.
