Board approves Franciscan MOU, ClaimAid billing contract and $500 medical-services agreement

A three-year MOU with Franciscan Health will provide athletic-training coverage, physician support for varsity football and related services; the agreement runs July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029, with costs of $18,000 in year one, $21,000 in year two and $25,000 in year three. Board member Tammy Brown asked for minor contract edits (designation of a school liaison, emergency-action plan collaboration with local health providers, a correction to a named official and removal or watermarking of a blank page); the board approved the MOU contingent on those edits.
The board also approved a school-based Medicaid billing services agreement with ClaimAid Consulting Corporation; ClaimAid will receive a fee equal to 8% of the federal portion of Medicaid reimbursements collected, with no fee charged for denied or noncollectible claims. Separately, the board authorized a $500 flat-fee professional-services agreement with Dr. Melody Marley to review and sign Medicaid orders for the 2026–27 school year. Fiscal and administrative staff said the contracts are intended to improve services while complying with state reporting requirements, and members approved them by voice vote.
