Vice Mayor Marion Chateau-Flagg told the Cloud Lake Town Council that trash and campsite debris from a person camping on an FDOT right-of-way near The Preserve continue to burden town maintenance. She said FDOT had indicated the campers would be removed but that the problem persists and fills the town's trash cans each collection day.
Chateau-Flagg asked the clerk to contact Palm Beach County Commissioner Flores for assistance in removing the tent inhabitants from FDOT property. She also displayed a photo of Atala caterpillars and butterflies found on plants in front of Town Hall and emphasized the species' conservation needs; she noted it is found only in South Florida, Cuba, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands and is among Florida's most endangered butterflies.
