Residents told the Cloud Lake Town Council on Jan. 8 that a Waste Management clam-shell truck removed vegetation and left holes at several parcels. The holes were reportedly filled on Jan. 6, but Mayor Russ Nidy and residents said more fill is necessary to restore affected driveways and verges.
Mayor Nidy said the town received correspondence from Jeff Sabin, Manager – Public Sector Solutions at Waste Management, proposing a meeting with the mayor and clerk to discuss the issue. The mayor said he plans to wait a few weeks to see how the repairs settle before scheduling that meeting. Resident Richard Castiglia suggested adding layers of pebbles above the fill to reduce future displacement and noted the road has stress cracks that will need attention in coming years.
