The Cloud Lake Building Department will be inspected by an Insurance Services Office (ISO) reviewer on May 21 as town staff complete preparatory documentation, the council was told at its May 14 meeting.
Town officials said Cloud Lake has held an ISO Class 3 rating since 1998 (Class 1 is the highest), a designation that the town said has allowed insurance-credit adjustments for new construction since 1997. The Building Official and the Town Clerk are coordinating the all-day onsite review and compiling materials for the report.
Council members did not take formal action at the meeting but were briefed on the schedule and next steps. The ISO report could affect underwriting considerations for builders and homeowners in future projects; town staff said they will share the final ISO findings when the report is complete.
