Parents urge board to investigate staff turnover and missing services at Blue Ridge

"I come before you again to thank you for your time and attention in matters regarding Blue Ridge and to urge you to continue to investigate why over a dozen a dozen teachers and staff left the school over the course of 1 year," Brandenburg said, describing parents who were not informed until days before the start of school. She also said federally mandated occupational therapy and speech services were not in place for some students and that a school counselor position remained unfilled.
Board members and administrators acknowledged staffing shortages and asked staff to follow up. District operations and HR representatives described hiring classification practices and the use of substitutes pending full placements; they did not dispute the count Brandenburg cited and said the district would continue to communicate with families and address service gaps.
