Conservation Commission and neighbors press for protections near Warner River

Several neighbors and conservation representatives told the Planning Board on June 1 they want stronger protections between the proposed parking area and the adjacent conservation easement along the Warner River.
Nancy Martin of the Conservation Commission asked whether the commission should be treated as an abutter and requested a fence to separate the proposed parking area from the conservation easement, citing proximity to the river and potential impacts from runoff. Barb Marty urged the board to require the developer to work with the Warner River Local Advisory Committee (WRLAC) and the Conservation Commission to produce a unified plan to protect the easement.
The board noted the applicant’s stormwater pond design and asked that written Conservation Commission minutes and WRLAC input be submitted for the record prior to the continued hearing. The Planning Board requested coordination among the Conservation Commission, WRLAC and the applicant and asked for any recommended protective conditions to be returned on July 6.
