Summer reading draws roughly 725 participants; director warns facility strained

The director praised staff for months of planning that enabled high attendance and noted operational challenges: parking overflow and space limits. "Our library is not suitable to serve the entire county," the director said, estimating the building is sized to serve a 20,000-person community while demand now reflects about 60,000. Committee members congratulated staff and urged the board to consider resources if needs continue to exceed facility capacity. The committee was also advised that staff can roughly identify Manchester cardholders anecdotally but cannot generate precise origin data from current checkout records.
