Superintendent Dr. Green opened the meeting with video highlights and a detailed plan to support families in the run-up to the 2026–27 school year, urging parents to register early to allow transportation planning. "The hotline will be available from 7AM to 5PM on Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30, by calling (601) 960-2781," he said, noting Spanish-speaking translators will be available.
Dr. Green said the district will not register new scholars during the first week of school to avoid scheduling delays for already-registered students, and emphasized available supports for families with housing or special circumstances. He also noted demolition has begun at French, Woodville Heights and Baker elementaries as part of a strategic consolidation to prepare facilities for future students.
