Design review staff told the committee the proposed window on a nonhistoric addition to Saint Philip Catholic Church is visible from East Main Street and should match the adjacent light pattern and material. "The proposed window appears to be on a non historic addition to the Saint Philip's church and has some visibility from East Main Street as it faces the courtyard," staff said, and recommended matching the 4‑light pattern and, where possible, the appearance of wood.
Commissioners generally agreed that a matching proportion and profile would make the change compatible with the building. One commissioner said they would be comfortable with staff issuing an administrative COA if the applicant submits material samples and keeps the sash and pane sizes consistent with adjacent windows. The applicant said they are open to matching the material if required and prefer an outcome that preserves the building's character.
