Selectboard administrative assistant Susan LaMadeleine reported that D'Avanza Tower Clock Repair advised the town that the municipal tower clock requires repairs, cleaning, part replacement and new hands, with an estimated total cost between $10,000 and $30,000. The board reached consensus and approved a motion to pay for the repairs from the Building Reserve Fund.
Susan said preparatory safety and access work must be done before the clock contractor can start; she was authorized to move forward with scheduling and contact the contractor. The minutes note that hatch repair, installation of a new ladder, and placement of a railing around the clock platform are required prior to the clock work.
