Parks & Rec approves $300 for sheriff coverage at Music in the Park; announces summer events

Parks & Recreation updated the council on recent events and upcoming programming: a June community painting event, a band shell location selected for Aug. 1 and a movie night scheduled for Aug. 21 at Veterans Park. The department reminded residents that a park can be rented for a day for $25.
“We would look for a motion from council to... spend $300 for the sheriff for those 3 hours as to there's gonna be alcohol served,” the Parks & Rec representative said. A motion was made and seconded; the council approved the $300 expenditure with a 4–0 vote. Parks staff also asked residents to pick up after dogs and noted maintenance investments at Carver Field.
