Council approves emergency response plan and risk-and-resilience assessment, estimates $19,750 cost

City Engineer Jared told the council that EPA regulations require an updated risk and resilience assessment and an emergency response plan for communities with populations above 3,300. He said the city’s latest estimate puts the population over the threshold and that the work to complete and submit the documents will cost approximately $19,750.
“There is an estimate of 19,750 to complete the plan and submit that, to the Department of Health as soon as possible. The emergency response plan is due December 30,” the engineer said. Council member Michelle Otto moved to approve the emergency response plan and risk and resilience assessment; the motion was seconded and passed 4–0. Staff and emergency responders will need to assemble the emergency management team to review the completed documents after delivery.
