The group said it has prepared roughly 150 copies for the conference and will post material on the town website; volunteers and the historical society are coordinating headstone‑repair workshops and cemetery tours.
Commission members also said an owner has agreed in principle to donate an Old AME church building to the town; keys are in hand and the commission is exploring fundraising and grant opportunities for restoration. Council and HLC requested volunteers and help with installation of historical markers on town property ahead of the conference.
