Council said the town received an official notice to proceed from the Department of Highways (DOH) for the next streetscape design phase. An engineering team from Ferrisio Engineering will be in town May 5 to begin design for Congress and Union streets, with scope including sidewalks, stormwater mitigation and ADA corner improvements. Chair said the town’s required match for the design phase has been fulfilled and that the design work will position Bath to compete for construction funding.
Council members also discussed ongoing work at the depot: an engineering and architectural contract remains under county and DOH review, while donations of replacement lights from a resident may offset some costs. Volunteers and local contractors were acknowledged for the role they play in advancing these public‑space improvements.
