Public works staff reported a townwide street cleaning operation and a phased streetlight replacement program scheduled for June. The east side (Johnson's Mill to William Street) is set for June 23 and the opposite side on June 30; the crew will replace an initial 54 bulbs out of roughly 104 total streetlights, with the project expected to be finished by the end of July. Staff advised there will be no parking on affected sides on those days and planned notifications via the town website, Facebook and the Morgan Messenger.
Council members also noted a new public‑works hire: "Carlos Delvey started on Monday," a staff speaker said. The town will phase the work so that most replacements occur without road closures; the schedule aims to avoid interfering with garbage collection days and cemetery operations. Residents were urged to watch for posted signs and announcements prior to work days.
