The Common Council approved two major public-works contracts recommended by the Board of Public Works: the 2025 asphalt street resurfacing and utility improvements contract was awarded to Payne & Dolan for a total of $7,298,487.54, and the Area 7 flood mitigation channel and storage improvements contract was awarded to Edgerton Contractors for $1,942,624.
Board of Public Works representatives said they received multiple bids and recommended the low bidders. "We received four bids for the Area 7 flood mitigation project; the low bid came from Edgerton Contractors in the amount of $1,942,624 and we'd recommend moving forward with them," the board representative said. Council members moved, seconded and approved both low-bid awards unanimously.
Board staff also reported on ongoing cart collection follow-up with Waste Management and an online app residents can use to report missed collections. The resurfacing award and the flood mitigation award will allow staff to proceed with contract execution and project scheduling for the 2025 construction season.
