Presenters stress certified contractors and HP QPL equipment for Mass Save heat pump rebates

"It is a requirement to work with a HPIN contractor to access Mass Save heat pump rebates for residential installs," Bates said, and he added that installed systems must appear on the program's HP QPL (Heat Pump Qualified Product List).
Bates described the HPIN and the Heat Pump Leaders Network (HPLN), which is a smaller subset of higher‑quality contractors: "there are the rate 1,600 contractors in the HPIN, about 80 in the HPLN," he said, and noted program requirements such as proof of insurance, relevant licenses and manufacturer training for cold-climate heat pumps.
