District reports $133M in revenues, $36.9M contingency, multiple construction projects

Susan Bintel and Brian Vanover presented fiscal and operational highlights at the annual report meeting, reporting revenues, contingency reserves, construction projects, transportation statistics, student nutrition totals and technology capacity.
Bintel said 2026 revenues are $133,000,000 with roughly 88% collected through March and about 92% collected by April; the district holds a $36.9 million contingency in the 2026 budget (state minimum is 2%). She noted 77% of expenditures support instruction and that the contingency is expected to be carried into the 2027 budget. Vanover described seven active construction projects across elementary schools (including River Ridge) and upgrades designed to modernize facilities.
On operations, presenters said the transportation fleet supports about 10,000 students daily across 86 routes with a fleet of 113 buses and seven vans and that the district served approximately 676,000 breakfasts and 1.3 million lunches under the Community Eligibility Provision. The technology department supports about 45,000 devices, maintains 1:1 device commitments (7,000 preK–5; 8,000 grades 6–12), and installed power backups for every building this year.
