Kim Rupp, Director of Finance, told commissioners the City's Property/Liability Coverage renews on July 1, 2026 and that Insurance Planning Inc. (IPI) marketed the package. "City staff recommends pursuing the 2026/2027 Property/Liability Coverage renewal in the amount of $569,891 with the incumbent as per the expiring policies," the minutes state; the recommendation reflected a flat premium year-over-year after reviewing a responsive quote and the incumbent renewal from Midwest Public Risk (MPR).
Vice-Mayor Alaina Cunningham moved and Commissioner David Vilaysing seconded to authorize the City Manager to renew the 2026/2027 Property/Liability Coverages package in the amount of $569,891, to be funded from the Intergovernmental Insurance and Surety line item. The clerk recorded unanimous ayes from the five commissioners present.
