District says every school has SRO coverage, adds AEDs and CPR drills

Kenton County officials told the annual report meeting they have full school resource officer (SRO) coverage across district buildings and are strengthening emergency preparedness with drills, standardized classroom kits and additional AEDs.
A presenter said the district is “very fortunate to have 100% coverage in every single building that we have,” and described the completed state security marshal risk assessments: 15 of 17 schools passed on the first attempt while two required minor door-hardware corrections and were reassessed. The district also reported 100% completion on standard emergency drills and added a CPR/AED drill this year.
Officials credited a grant that increased AED availability to 150 units across indoor and outdoor campus locations and highlighted improved communication between district and building-level safety committees. The presentation noted these measures are ongoing and that staff will continue quarterly and, in some schools, weekly meetings to coordinate safety and response protocols.
