Summerall High School baseball team honored as state champions

The Lamar County School District Board opened its recognitions by honoring the Summerall High School baseball team for a state championship in their classification. A presenter introduced the team and noted the victory over Pontotoc and that this marked the program27s third state championship in five years.
A coach/guest told the board the season was special: "they were just great kids, great ballplayers, great humans," and thanked parents, teachers and the coaching staff for their support. Board members congratulated the players and coaches and encouraged the community to celebrate the accomplishment as the district prepares for the new school year.
